Managing DNS Settings with Hosterity

Learn how to manage your DNS settings to ensure your domain points to the correct servers.

Step 1: Access DNS Management

Log in to Your Dashboard:

  • Access your Hosterity account and navigate to the “Domains” section.

Select Domain:

  • Click on the domain you want to manage and go to the DNS settings page.

Step 2: Update DNS Records

Types of DNS Records:

  • A Record: Points your domain to an IP address.
  • CNAME Record: Aliases one domain name to another.
  • MX Record: Directs email to your mail server.
  • TXT Record: Provides additional information for verification and security.

Add/Modify Records:

  • Click “Add Record” to create a new DNS record.
  • Enter the required details and save the changes.
  • Modify existing records by clicking “Edit” next to the respective record.

Step 3: Verify Changes

Propagation Time:

  • DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate globally. Use tools like DNS Checker to monitor the status.

Test Configuration:

  • Ensure your website and email services are functioning correctly after making DNS changes.
